The Ending 01:11
The ending of the story doesn't matter yet. You haven't met the characters, let along invested in them. The beginning is when you read about where the events in the story take place. The time is now; the place is right here -- Look around you!

Brian, when they asked me for your name at the border, I lied. I told them I'd only ever known you as "that guy." I knew you were planning to stick out the year; I couldn't fathom why. I just hoped in the end you got out of the country alive. He gets away with it; she gets away with it; could you get away with it, too? Smart folks know the third light gets the bullet. Like in that Humphrey Bogart film from 1932 - Three on a a Match: Third light gets the bullet. My loyalties are left and right, not up and down; so, if it ever came down to turning you in or leaving this town, I'd be gone.

about

Necessity was the mother of invention on this album, a collection of recordings made at home, while shut-in as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Will Travis recorded his parts at his home in the South end of Halifax, then Andrew Long fleshed out the first few tracks at his home in Parkdale (Toronto), with his keyboard parts, programming and drum machines (using a beat from another musical colleague, James Yousif, in track#3). Mark Merrimen sent in the bass tracks for #2 and #3. Darrel Cameron added a nylon string guitar part for track#4 (sent via email) that he recorded in his studio space on Hollis Street, just a couple of blocks away from Travis. Mark Merrimen (bass) and Chris Brown (drums) provided the rhythm section for tracks 4, 5, 6 and 8, recording their parts in their respective homes in Lakeside and Dartmouth.
